Nightfang, if that's right then how do I get 59.04 per day?
(1+(23/100)) * ((2 + 2)^2)
(1.23) * (4^2)
This would equal 19.68 
If only i could get some more data and borrow Jarulf from the Diablo 2 forums we could get this sorted

Quick update
The 19.68 value i got was exactly a 1/3 of the actual research value, but that could just be coincidence i assume.

Having got online and checked
My research agent has a 3x Research Field Bonus, so the formula is spot on

Did a show info on the agent.
The bonus rate is on the bottom.
(This was after the R&D project was started)
But if i'm competeing with other Amarrians using Amarrian agents, the multiplier won't mean a lot
And on another point, thanks j0sephine for all the posts about the R&D and other agent missions on the patch review forum.
Maybe they'll give some out before christmas, i could do with a good prezzie

Just did a stopping missions
(Had to recover some minerals from 4 frigates)
Got bonus RP's equal to 1 days full research
